There is a huge difference between giving something ‘a try’ and ‘being all in.’ It’s all about commitment. To succeed your commitment level has to be ‘all in’ because ‘half-hearted’ and ‘half-baked’ commitments don’t create champions.
Life is not a side-line sport. It is something that we must get involved in and play with all of our hearts. If we expect life to have any meaning at all we have to be ready to take some hits. Coach Tom Shields reminds us that our ‘Adversity’ is our ‘University’. He understands that our growth and learning take place through difficult times. We seem to gain wisdom more readily through our failures than through our successes. We always think of failure as the antithesis of success, but it isn’t. Success often lies just the other side of failure.

My football coaches often told us that if we played half-heartedly there was a good chance that we would get hurt. We were reminded that an athlete will never be very effective if he is afraid of being hit or tackled. You have to play the game giving it one hundred percent! In other words, BE all in.
Life is a contact sport and you are going to take some hits. It’s a concept of playing life at full speed. You can not half-way do a marriage, or half-way raise children, or half-way build a business if you expect to have good results and succeed. Whatever you choose to do, BE all in.
